Stor-All proposed a five-story self-storage building at 1301 Mercer Avenue in West Palm Beach.

Deerfield Beach-based Stor-All proposed construction of a five-story self-storage building just west of downtown West Palm Beach.

The city planning board will review the proposed Stor-All development Tuesday.

The Stor-All building at 1301 Mercer Avenue would span 110,900 square feet on a 1.7-acre site. The owner of the land is Clear Lake View LLC. Its manager is Richard Callahan of West Palm Beach.

Stor-All has a contract to buy the land, just off south Australian Avenue, from Clear Lake View. The land last sold in 2005 for $2.75 million.

If approved, the Stor-All project would be part of surge in construction of self-storage facilities in South Florida, where many former home owners have squeezed into rentals in recent years. [South Florida Business Journal] — Mike Seemuth
