The word is out: Miami-Dade County’s housing market has started to slow down, while Broward and Palm Beach counties are holding steady. Now, two prominent South Florida brokerages — Douglas Elliman and RelatedISG — are reaching out to greener pastures up north.
Douglas Elliman
Douglas Elliman has announced its newest offices in Wellington at the city’s Palm Beach Polo & Country Club.
The offices, located at 11199 Polo Drive, will be headed by longtime Palm Beach real estate veteran Don Langdon. According to a news release, Langdon actually began his career as a Realtor at the Polo Club in 1984. He joined Douglas Elliman last year.
Wellington is known for its multimillion-dollar equestrian estates, which frequently boast features like horse tracks and stables over luxury home finishes. The city plays host to a number of horse races and championships, including the Winter Equestrian Festival — a 12-week international competition.
This newest opening brings the number of Douglas Elliman offices in South Florida to 16. In Palm Beach County, the firm has more than 90 agents. The brokerage also recently opened a new location at an office tower in Brickell.
RelatedISG
RelatedISG International Realty has opened in Weston, marking its sixth location and second in Broward, the company announced on Thursday.
RelatedISG, a joint venture between the Related Group and ISGWorld, acquired 34 agents from Florida Elite Homes, a boutique real estate firm founded by Janette K. Schafer.
The new office, at 4430 Weston Road, spans 2,300 square feet, according to a spokesperson.
It partnered with Plan B International Realty, opening the Coral Gables location in September; and acquired Donna Incorvaja’s Donna Home Expert Team of five sales agents in Fort Lauderdale.
In July, RelatedISG expanded to Edgewater with a two-story, loft-style office that spans 2,100 square feet. – Katherine Kallergis and Sean Stewart-Muniz
