Maitland mixed-use project includes Related rentals

Jorge Perez’s Miami-based Related Group will build the residential component of a 96-acre mixed-use development in the Orlando suburb of Maitland.

Related Development LLC , an arm of  Related Group, will build a 350-unit residential rental community in Maitland comprised of apartments and townhomes.

It will be part of a $60 million mixed-use development on land owned by Battaglia Group Management LLC, based in Winter Park.

The commercial component of the Maitland project will be a 130,000-square-foot, specialty grocery store-anchored shopping center built by Pelloni Development Corp., based in Lake Mary

A Related Group entity called Related Development LLC will build a 350-unit residential rental community in Maitland comprised apartments and townhomes.

The mixed-use development on Maitland Boulevard may benefit the owner of the nearby Maitland Center office building, which has lost many tenants to offices in Lake Mary and other Orlando suburbs.

Damien Madsen, principal of real estate brokerage Taylor & Mathis of Florida, told the Orlando Business Journal, “For the longest time, it’s been the older business park in the Orlando area and I think with all this new development, it will create a new energy.”  [Orlando Business Journal] — Mike Seemuth
