When it comes to competing with Miami and Fort Lauderdale for buyers, developer James Mincy is banking on sticker shock.
The Magic Development director said a lot of his Orlando projects’ buyers start out shopping for units in South Florida, but see prices pushing $800 per square foot and instead start looking elsewhere.
His company has three upcoming projects in Orlando including Magic Place, a massive five-tower resort with office and retail space. It’s being designed by Pininfarina, a firm based out of Italy that worked on Miami’s Millecento complex as well as a host of super cars.
