Miami-based Terra Group has started construction of 125 houses at Botaniko Weston and expects the first residents to move to the western Broward County community in about a year.

It is the first master-planned development of single-family houses in Weston in more than 10 years, according to Terra.

Houses at Botaniko will have five to seven bedrooms and range in size from 6,500 to 9,700 square feet. Terra priced the houses from $1.7 million to $3 million.

David Martin, president of Terra, told the Sun-Sentinel that the company has purchase contracts for about 45 percent of the houses. Terra launched its preconstruction sales program for Botaniko in May 2015.

The 121-acre site of Botaniko is the former Bonaventure Country Club golf course in Weston, which Terra acquired more than two years ago for $30 million. [Sun-Sentinel] — Mike Seemuth
