Unless you are one of the lucky few living in a 10,000-square-foot townhouse, New York can feel very cramped at times. It’s natural to occasionally dream of living larger. Well, elsewhere in this massive country of ours homes are big — so big, you’ll be thankful you’re living in a studio and not paying the air-conditioning bills on these behemoths. Here is a look at the five biggest homes in America that are currently on the market.
Forbes collaborated with Trulia to find the largest mansions in the country. And of course they found that living large doesn’t come cheap: prices ranged from $8 million to $159 million.

This mansion is located within a gated community on 3.4 acres in Atlanta. It has eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a custom 12-seat theater, a wine cellar, a cigar room, an art gallery, a putting green, a summer kitchen, and a heated saltwater pool with a spa and waterfall.

It includes “Club Mon Rêve,” which apparently is an entertainment area with a lounge, theater complex, wine room and separate valet entrance. Outside amenities include a fireside lounge, a lap pool, several sports courts and a tree-lined hiking trail.

You might recognize this sprawling mansion from the documentary “The Queen of Versailles.” Called Le Palais Royale, the house has 4.49 acres set between the Atlantic and Intracoastal Waterway and 465 feet of oceanfront. Of course there is room for a 200-foot yacht.
It contains 19 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms, a $2 million grand staircase, a 120-year-old Austrian chandelier, more than $3 million in 22-karat gold leaf detailing, a go-cart track, an ice skating rink and a 4,500-square-foot infinity pool.
