HomeServices of America, an arm of Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc., acquired its brokerage franchise in Jacksonville and retained its principal, Linda Scherrer.
Sherrer started her residential real estate brokerage company 28 years ago and it has grown to 330 agents with closings on 3,000-plus units and almost $900 million in volume in 2015.
Sherrer, president and chief executive of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices of Florida Network Realty, had operated her company as Prudential Network Realty until January 2014, when it became an independently owned and operated Berkshire Hathaway franchise.
She told the Jacksonville Business Journal that negotiations to sell her franchise began in December and the transaction became effective in May.
Sherrer and her daughter, Christy Budnick, vice president of the company, will continue in their current roles at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices of Florida Network Realty. [Navarre Press] — Mike Seemuth
