Interior designer Sara McCann paid $1.7 million for a building and parking lot on South Dixie Highway, one of several recent sales of property in the area.

McCann, owner of Hive Home Gift & Garden at 424 Palm Street, bought the parking lot and the building at 1600 South Dixie Highway that houses a windows and doors business called Zeluck.

McCann told the Palm Beach Post she plans to turn the Zeluck building into the headquarters of her design firm, McCann Design Group.

McCann in January paid $1.5 million for the former Ambrosia restaurant location at 1603 South Dixie Highway, a property that sold previously in 1984 for $195,000, the Palm Beach Post reported.

She told the newspaper the old Ambrosia location may become “an extension of the Hive,” her nearby business on Palm Street.

Other recent acquisitions of real estate along South Dixie Highway include New York developer Charles Cohen’s $6 million purchase of the Carefree Theatre at 2000 South Dixie Highway and billionaire Jeff Greene’s $1.9 million purchase of 2001 South Dixie Highway, a former Mazda dealership.
