Miami-based IBT Group completed a 125-bed hospital in the Dominican Republic near the Punta Cana and La Romana resort areas.

IBT financed, designed, built and equipped the three-story, 62,336-square foot hospital in a Domincan city called Higüey.

The Miami-based company recently hosted a dedication ceremony for the new hospital attended by Danilo Medina, the president of the Dominican Republic.

The new hospital provides emergency care and operates five intensive care units together with surgery rooms and diagnostic imaging facilities, plus a pharmacy, pathology lab and blood bank.

Our Lady of Altagracia General and Specialties Hospital will serve patients in the eastern provinces of the Dominican Republic including thousands of low-income families.

The main lobby of the hospital features a large acrylic painting of the Virgin of Altagracia, allegorical to the protective and spiritual mother of the Dominican Republic.

IBT is a multinational group of companies specializing in turnkey public-works developments and infrastructure projects.
