Merritt Island-based Tricon Development plans to build 108 oceanfront condos on a former hotel site in Satellite Beach.

The four-acre site, with almost 800 feet of frontage on the Atlantic Ocean, was the longtime location of the old Ramada Inn Oceanfront Resort, which was badly damaged by hurricanes in 2004 and never reopened.

Tricon plans to build two 96-foot-tall condominium buildings with three-bedroom units ranging in size from 1,911 square feet to 2,472 square feet. Each unit will have a balcony spanning 159 square feet to 347 square feet. The buildings will have ground-floor parking garages.

The Satellite Beach development, called Oceana Oceanfront Condominium, also will feature a swimming pool, a two-story recreation building and a catering kitchen.

The oceanfront site of the development “is really one of a kind. Nowhere else in Brevard County do you have that kind of luxury anymore,” Maurice Kodsi, a principal of Tricon Development, told Florida Today. [Florida Today] Mike Seemuth
