Swire Properties held a cocktail party to celebrate its $600,000 donation to the Underline, a planned linear park in the county.
The Brickell City Centre developer announced the donation in May, which will go toward the park’s Brickell Backyard, the first portion to be developed. It’s the biggest donation to the project so far.
Swire President Stephen Owens, Friends of the Underline Founder Meg Daly, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez, developers Jeff Berkowitz, Carlos Rosso and Ugo Colombo were among the party’s attendees.
The VIP reception, held at the Brickell City Centre’s EAST, Miami hotel, also included the unveiling of four temporary art installations that will be part of the Underline, as well as a $2 million check presentation from the Miami-Dade County Legislative Delegation.
In February, Pinnacle Housing Group, 13th Floor Investments and the Adler Group, together donated a combined $75,000.
