A Hollywood-based hospitality company will break ground on a new Wyndham Garden Hotel in Dania Beach on Thursday.
AD1 Global Hotels is developing the 142-room hotel at 129 North Federal Highway.
The developer secured a $14.4 million construction loan for the project in June, according to Broward County records. The Wyndham, which is slated to open next summer, is south of the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
Nearby is the Design Center of the Americas, where Starwood Hotels & Resorts will launch its Le Meridien brand next year following a $30 million renovation and conversion of the Sheraton airport hotel; as well as a planned 143-room, seven-story hotel at 48 South Federal Highway.
Dania Beach Hospitality Group LLC acquired the 40,000-square-foot Wyndham site in 2014 for a combined $1.5 million, property records show. The company is also working on hotels in Tamarac, Sunrise, Port Canaveral and Orange County, Florida.
AD1 is a hotel acquisition, development and management company with properties in Orlando, Melbourne and Palm Beach Gardens, according to a press release. – Katherine Kallergis
