Where do all those celebrity swimsuit designers stay during Swim Week?
As Miami Beach heats up with swimwear designers from all over the world showing their latest collections to a bevy of buyers, at least one, Tori Praver, is shacking up in a condo priced at $7.19 million.
Praver, who is based in Los Angeles, is staying for a week at Penthouse 1708 at 1 Hotel and Homes South Beach, Carolina Rainer, sales director at 1 Hotel and Homes, told The Real Deal. The unit is not actually for rent, she said, but Praver is living there. It’s one of 18 penthouses for sale in the South Beach development, among 29 penthouses on two floors that were originally on the market. Earlier this year, models Chrissy Teigen, Hannah Ferguson and Chanel Iman also stayed at the South Beach tower while in town for the Sports Illustrated cover party.
It’s the the 10th year Praver has participated in Swim Week, and she usually stays at the W South Beach, her representative said via email. She’s living at 1 Hotel and Homes with her husband, two children and her mother, the representative said.
Her 2,543-square-foot, three bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath unit is fully furnished, with ocean views from every room and two terraces totaling 392 square feet. It was designed by New York-based Samuel Amoia, Rainer said.
The LEED-certified hotel and condo development opened last year as part of a joint venture between Sternlicht’s Starwood Capital Group and LeFrak. 1 Hotel, at 2341 Collins Avenue, was developed on the site of the former Gansevoort Hotel, which also operated as the Perry South Beach. The hotel is now being marketed for sale, sources last month told TRD.
Praver, who is in town until Tuesday, is holding her fashion show Saturday evening at the Funkshion tent nearby.
