The owner of the Miramar Park of Commerce expects to complete speculative construction of an office building there in the fourth quarter.
It will be the first new office building in 10 years at the sprawling business park in Miramar, which has about 180 tenants and 5.2 million square feet of warehouse and office space.
Sunbeam Properties & Development, the owner of the Miramar Park of Commerce, expects to finish a new one-story office building spanning 70,948 square feet sometime in the October-December period.
“The market tightened up, and we saw there was a need for office space,” Maridee Bell, vice president of Sunbeam, told the Sun-Sentinel.
Commercial property brokerage Colliers International will serve as the leasing agent for the spec office building, which Sunbeam is building without a tenant in place.
Colliers executive Jonathan Kingsley told the Sun-Sentinel that Sunbeam hopes to sign one or two large-scale tenants.
“The time is right to build,” Kingsley told the newspaper.
