on The Clintons have done quite nicely for themselves over the years – and we’re talking about real estate, not politics. Here’s a look at their many properties over the years.

For 18 consecutive years, the Clintons lived in government-provided housing, including the Arkansas governor’s mansion and the White House, according to the New York Times. But their first private home was on West Clinton Drive, Fayetteville, Arkansas.

In 1975, the Clintons paid $17,200 for the Tudor revival home on West Clinton Drive.

Just one year later, they moved to L Street in Little Rock. The modest 1,394-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bathroom home was where they lived while Bill Clinton was attorney general.

In 1980, they moved to Midland Street, Little Rock. The couple paid $112,000 for the house after Bill lost his re-election bid for governor.

After serving as president, Bill was burdened with debt from legal bills. The couple initially accepted help from fund-raiser Terry McAuliffe to get a mortgage on the $1.7 million home at Old House Lane, Chappaqua, N.Y. However, criticism forced them to turn down the offer.

In 2000, they bought another multimillion dollar home, this time in Washington D.C. The 5,500-square-foot home on “Embassy Row” has a tree-lined lot, seven bedrooms, a den, a pool and a terrace. It cost $2.85 million.

And finally, in 2004, they purchased the property on President Clinton Avenue in Little Rock. The private residence is actually on top of the Clinton library. The apartment has a terrace overlooking the Arkansas River and the Clinton Presidential Park Bridge.
