Developers Fernbrook Homes and and Grupo Fernandez hit a major milestone in the construction of their Sabbia Beach condo project last weekend, as construction workers poured roughly 1,000 cubic yards of concrete over two days to form the 19-story tower’s foundation.
The pour was divided between two seven-hour blocks on Wednesday and Friday, according to the developers, as concrete mixers lined up around Sabbia Beach’s development site at 730 North Ocean Boulevard in Pompano Beach both days. All told, it took 100 truckloads to get the job done.
With the foundation in place, Fernbrook and Grupo Fernandez expect the Arquitectonica-designed tower to be completed by the second quarter of 2018. Its 68 units range in price from the mid $900,000s to $5.9 million, and the project was 65 percent sold as of June. Unlike the majority Miami developments, which require 50 percent deposits from buyers, Sabbia Beach asks 35 percent.
Amenities at the building include direct beach access, an oceanfront heated pool, fitness center, spa, social room and 24-hour valet parking. — Sean Stewart-Muniz
