West Palm Beach-based DCS Capital Investments paid $11.5 million for a 20-acre site in Orlando near the Orange County Convention Center. DCS plans to build a convention hotel on the vacant land, where another company failed to build a giant Ferris wheel.
Citing property records, the Orlando Sentinel also reported that the land previously sold twice in 2007 for $36.1 million and $38 million. The land is located at 6450 Westwood Boulevard in Orlando, just south of the convention center. Announced in 2008, the Ferris wheel development collapsed in 2009. [Orlando Sentinel] – Mike Seemuth
