CityPlace Doral has brought on a new restaurant, and CineBistro released new renderings of the luxury movie theater planned for the mixed-use project in Doral.

Vapiano, a fast casual Italian restaurant chain, inked a 7,910-square-foot lease at the project’s retail component, a spokesperson for RKF told The Real Deal. That includes 2,000 square feet on the first floor and 5,910 square feet on the second floor of a new building. When the restaurant opens early next year, it will mark the second in South Florida for Vapiano.

John Ellis, senior director at the brokerage, and associate Aaron Labovitz, represented Vapiano. RKF declined to provide lease terms. Related was represented in-house.

Arquitectonica is designing the project. In all, the $800 million, 55-acre mixed-use development calls for 300,000 square feet of retail space and more than 1,000 housing units, including 150 single-family homes, 700 rental apartments and 320 condos. Shoma Homes is co-developing CityPlace Doral with Related.

CityPlace joins Codina Partners’ Downtown Doral and other mixed-use, large-scale communities new to the suburban, sprawling city of Doral.

The project’s central section will include a pedestrian mall and a Vegas-style fountain. Other retail tenants include Fresh Market, Kings Bowling, D’Angelo’s, Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant, Venetian Nail Spa, Cheese Course, City Works Eatery & Pour House, Cabo Flats and Sloan’s Ice Cream, according to a press release.

CineBistro by Cobb Theatres also released new details and renderings of its Doral location. Also set to open early next year, the seven-screen, 550-seat location will have a center bar serving cocktails and wine, a private dining room for events, and a dine-in theater and restaurant menu.
