The developer of the Metropica master-planned community in Sunrise has launched pre-construction sales of six loft-style condos with prices starting just under $400,000.

The six lofts will be among 263 units at Metropica’s first high-rise condominium, called YOO.

The lofts have floor plans with one or two bedrooms and at least 916 square feet of space. The loft prices range upward from $397,500.

Unit prices at the 26-story YOO building, expected to open in 2018, will range upward from the $300,000s to $1 million-plus.

The Sunrise City Commission approved the initial phase of Metropica’s development over the next five to seven years where Sunrise Boulevard meets the Sawgrass Expressway.

Metropica Holdings, the developer, expects the project to cost $1.5 billion and to encompass two hotels and 2,250 residences plus 400,000 square feet of retail space and 650,000 square feet of office space. [Sun Sentinel] — Mike Seemuth
