Morton Group to start building Delray condo

Boca Raton-based Morton Group Inc. is set to start construction of a 48-unit condominium in Delray Beach called The Metropolitan.

Prices for the two- and three-bedroom condos will start in the $600,000s and will range in size up to 1,600 square feet.

Architect and Delray resident Richard Jones is designing the five-story building, which will feature will retail shops,  office space, a rooftop deck and a public plaza.

The development site is a half block from East Atlantic Avenue, a popular nightlife corridor in Delray Beach.

The family-run Morton Group, Inc., led by its president Michael Morton and his son Bradley Morton, senior vice president, has developed more than  40 residential, commercial and public-works projects throughout Florida, New York and North Carolina.
