Florida Keys developer Pritam Singh plans to start building a 199-room hotel on the site of a recreational vehicle park and marina in Marathon in May.
The hotel will be a 10-building cluster where a majority of the rooms will overlook the ocean. The property will feature a pool bar, restaurant and four-acre beach.
Singh also plans to break ground in February for 30 two-bedroom units of ”workforce housing” in an apartment building on the grounds of the 24-acre Knights Key RV Resort and Marina, which he acquired in 2015.
The developer will require recreational vehicle owners at the RV park to vacate their spaces by May.
Singh built the Truman Annex housing development in Key West and Tranquility Bay Resort in Marathon, among other real estate projects.
“As a single development, this [RV park redevelopment] is the largest in the last 20 to 30 years in the Keys,” Noah Singh, son of Pritam Singh, told the Florida Keynoter.[Florida Keynoter] – Mike Seemuth
