The developer of the master-planned, 65-acre Metropica development in Sunrise hired Tutor Perini Building Corp. as general contractor for construction of the development’s first residential building.

Vertical construction of the 28-story, 263-unit residential building already is under way. Tutor Perini started putting up the building after the recent completion of extensive infrastructure work at the site.

The developer, Metropica Development, LLC, is now pre-selling units at the residential building, called Yoo at Metropica, the first of eight residential buildings planned at Metropica. The developer recently started marketing 11 loft units at Yoo at Metropica, which award-winning architect Chad Oppenheim designed.
