Movers & Shakers: Swire Hotels taps US vice president, Former Red Sox player joins Elliman…and more

Swire Hotels has brought on Giovanni Beretta as vice president of the company’s U.S. operations and general manager of East, Miami.

Beretta left the Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel in New York, where he was managing director. He also previously worked for the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in San Francisco and Miami, and for the Intercontinental Hotel Group. Beretta graduated from Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland in 1995.

East opened in May of last year and is part of Brickell City Centre’s mixed-use project.

Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Gar Finnvold has joined Douglas Elliman.

Finnvold will work out of Elliman’s Delray Beach office in the company’s sports and entertainment division, according to a press release. He’s been in real estate for more than 16 years, previously working for Berkshire Hathaway and Prudential Florida Realty. Finnvold played for the Red Sox in 1994.

Elliman recently acquired Delray Beach firm Tauriello & Co. Real Estate Inc.

Engel & Völkers Miami launched the Estrada-Zea Team, led by Juan Estrada and Margarita Zea. The husband-and-wife duo, previous owners of VIP Florida Real Estate, merged their company with Engel & Völkers toward the end of 2015. The team’s listings include a $6.7 million condo. Estrada was also recently promoted to director of luxury condo sales.

Kluger, Kaplan, Silverman, Katzen & Levine named Jamie Zuckerman a partner of the litigation firm. Zuckerman focuses on complex litigation, including commercial litigation and trust and estate litigation, trust and estate disputes and appellate cases. Kluger has been an associate at the firm for the past six years.
