Island off Belize on the market for $9.9 million

UPDATED Jan. 23, 11 a.m.: A seven-acre island and resort off the coast of Belize is listed for sale for $9.9 million.

Irving Padron, Engel & Völkers Miami’s license partner, has the listing for the property.

The private island, called Hatchet Caye, is located off the Caribbean coastal town of Placencia, Belize.

The accommodations there include rooms at the Main House and oceanfront cabanas. A website for Hatchet Caye promotes honeymoon stays, fishing vacations and diving trips. The whole island is available to groups as large as 26 guests.

Hatchet Caye, which features almost a mile of private shoreline, is located in an area popular for dive tours, on the edge of Gladden Spit and the Silk Cayes Marine Reserve of Belize.
