A vacant, oceanfront property in Golden Beach just hit the market for $12 million.

Sue Honowitz of Rusty Stein & Co has the listing for the lot at 501 Ocean Boulevard. The 27,300 square-foot property includes 100 feet of frontage on the ocean, she told The Real Deal. The price equates to $440 per square foot for the land.

Property records show the seller is 501 OCN Blvd. LLP, linked to an address in Toronto. Honowitz would not disclose the owner, and would say only that he is foreign. The previous purchase price is not available in records.

Architectural plans for an 8,000-square-foot house accompany the property for sale.

“He was going to build on it and he finds he is not getting here that often,” Honowitz said.

The 273-foot-by-100 foot site is centrally located on Golden Beach’s six blocks of ocean frontage. “It’s a magnificent, fabulous location,” she said.

Residents of Golden Beach, an exclusive waterfront enclave in north Miami-Dade, have access to a private beach. Golden Beach is home to such celebrities as Tommy Hilfiger and Bruce Weber. Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim is also building a waterfront mansion there.

Two months ago, Honowitz listed a home on the Intracoastal Waterway in Golden Beach, dubbed “Villa D’Amore,” for $7.25 million. The 7,068-square-foot house at 572 North Island Drive was built in 2007. The price breaks down to $1,026 per square foot.
