Another major fashion designer has listed his Miami home.
Tommy Hilfiger put his colorful Golden Beach mansion on the market for $27.5 million with Coldwell Banker’s the Jills, just one day after Calvin Klein sold his Miami Beach home for $13.15 million.
Hilfiger and his wife, Dee Ocleppo renovated the 14,025-square-foot house with eye-popping color palettes and patterns. Records show Villa Deniz LLC paid $17.25 million for the property at 605 Ocean Boulevard in 2013. The home, built in 2007, has six bedrooms, a beachfront pool and sits on a 27,500-square-foot beachfront lot.
A 2014 “Architectural Digest” feature of the home showed bright carpeting and paneling, black and white patterned floors, a poolside Keith Haring sculpture, and even a sculpture of a security guard standing by another piece of Haring artwork, as if in a gallery. Some of the children’s bathrooms have scratch-and-sniff wallpaper.
Hilfiger described the mansion as “part art gallery and part beach house” with a touch of disco, according to the Wall Street Journal. The furniture and art aren’t included in the listing, but Hilfiger hinted that some pieces may be up for negotiation. Hilfiger, who also owns the Raleigh hotel in Miami Beach, said he’s spending less time in Golden Beach. But the couple is considering buying a home in Palm Beach or Los Angeles.
Jill Hertzberg and Jill Eber told the newspaper that if it sells at its asking price, the deal would set a record for Golden Beach, beating a previous record of a $22.5 million sale in 2014. [WSJ] – Katherine Kallergis
