UPDATED May 1, 5:50 p.m.: Cushman & Wakefield just tapped another hire from CBRE: Anthony Librizzi, who joins the firm as managing director of commercial brokerage in West Palm Beach.

Labrizzi will lead the office leasing group that includes Palm Beach County Managing Principal Mark L. Pateman, as well as Tara England, Kevin D. Landers, Michael H. Feldman, Michael Osiecki and Merritt Etner, the firm announced on Monday.

He comes to Cushman after nine years at CBRE, where he served as senior vice president handling both office landlords and tenants in West Palm Beach, North Palm Beach and along the Treasure Coast.

Librizzi told The Real Deal that Pateman had been his top competitor while Librizzi was at CBRE. One of them would win one deal, then the other would win the next, and so on.

Today most of the more successful brokers are part of a team, and my newly minted partner Mark Pateman and I have been discussing a partnership for two years,” he said. “Now seemed like a good opportunity — not just for us, but for our clients — to join forces. And it just made more sense for me to join Cushman than for him to join CBRE.”

Cushman has been hiring brokers and executives away from CBRE for months, notably bringing in Vice Chairman Robert Given and his investment sales team in July. The team, which had closed more than $20 billion in deals over the past 13 years, included  Zachary Sackley, Calum Weaver, Neal Victor, Perry Synanidis, James Quinn, Aaron Mandel, Brant Long and Elizabeth Rogerio.

Librizzi’s experience includes leading leasing efforts for a portfolio of more than 1.75 million square feet of office space throughout Palm Beach County, which included Congress Corporate Park, Esperante Corporate Center, One Clearlake Center, Tower 1555, Corporate Center at the Gardens, 1700 Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard and Gardens Medical Pavilion. Landlords he has represented have included RedSky Capital, Alchemy-ABR Partners, AEW Capital, Lexington Realty Trust, Breakers Capital, Tower Realty Partners, and Praedium Group.

American Express, AT&T, FPL, Merrill Lynch and TD Bank are among the tenants he has represented.

In February of 2016, Cushman opened a new Broward County office in Fort Lauderdale. The company merged with DTZ in 2015 in a deal valued at $2 billion, forming a commercial real estate giant with more than 250 offices in 60 countries.
