Islamic Center of Boca Raton pays $4.9M for 19 acres

The center plans to use the land west of Delray Beach on Lyons Road for future expansion

The Islamic Center of Boca Raton

The Islamic Center of Boca Raton bought 19 acres west of Delray Beach on Lyons Road for $4.9 million, or almost $258,000 per acre. The center took a $3.3 million mortgage from the seller, A-1 Holdings of Boca Raton.

Bassam Alhalabi, president of the Islamic Center, told the Palm Beach Post the center plans to use the land for future expansion. The center runs a mosque and a school on a 6.6-acre property near Florida Atlantic University. [Palm Beach Post] Mike Seemuth
