Sawgrass Mills, the Sunrise shopping center owned by Simon Property Group, announced it is adding seven new stores, including H&M.
New stores include the first South Florida outlets for Etro, Moncler, Breitling and Lulelemon. Etro has leased 2,000 square feet; Moncler, 4,000 square feet; Breitling, 900 square feet; and Lululemon, 4,000 square feet, all at the Colonnade Outlets. Etro, Moncler and Breitling just opened, and Lululemon will open in August, Sawgrass Mill said in a release.
Other retailers that just opened include a 48,000-square-foot Dick’s Sporting Goods and a 7,000-square-foot LOFT Outlet, and T.J. Maxx has expanded its store to 54,000 square feet.
H&M will debut this fall with a 40,000-square-foot store, Sawgrass Mills said.
Sawgrass Mills, at 12801 West Sunrise Boulevard in Sunrise, has more than 350 outlet and off-price retail stores, two food courts and 13 restaurants.
The retail landscape in South Florida has been bucking the downward trend found elsewhere in the nation. Aventura Mall is also expanding with a new three-level wing, with stores including Topshop Topman and Zara.
According to a Marcus & Millichap report, in Broward County retail vacancies dropped slightly, to 4.6 percent in the first quarter of 2017, and rents saw a few cents drop, to $20.06 per square foot. — Ina Cordle
