Novelist Jilliane Hoffman listed her waterfront Fort Lauderdale home for sale with an asking price of $3.8 million.
DND Associates, an affiliate of brokerage firm One Sotheby’s International Realty, has the listing for the two-story house at 517 Isle of Palms Drive, which Hoffman bought in 2006, the same year Benchmark Development built it.
The property includes a private dock large enough for a yacht and provides access to the Atlantic Ocean on the Stranahan River. The backyard has a splash pool, a hot tub and a swimming pool.
Indoor features include a temperature-controlled wine room and a home theater. The kitchen has custom-made wood cabinets, granite counter tops and an exposed brick wall.
A lofted office on the second floor is where Hoffman writes her crime novels. Her first one, “Retribution,” became one of the three best-selling novels in the United States and got a nomination for the Anthony Award for excellence in mystery writing.
Hoffman’s house has five bathrooms and a half bathroom and five bedrooms. The master suite, which spans the north wing of the second floor, has hand-painted walls, a sunk-in bathtub and a morning bar. [Sun-Sentinel] – Mike Seemuth
