Movers & Shakers: Franklin Street, City National expand & more

New hires and promotions at CBRE, Marcus & Millichap, Moss and more

Franklin Street is expanding its multifamily investment team.

The brokerage hired Oscar Banegas as an investment associate specializing in multifamily properties in South Florida. Banegas was previously a sales associate at First Step Realty Group where he helped investors structure deals for income-producing properties in Miami.

City National Bank is expanding its residential mortgage team with five new hires and plans to open new offices in Florida. Howard Levine is now executive vice president and residential lending executive, Anthony Eelman is managing senior vice president and residential lending managing director, Carmen Valdivia was hired as senior vice president and residential sales director, Susan I. Mitchell as senior vice president and residential risk underwriting manager, and Yaira N. Mejia as first vice president and senior mortgage banker.

Commercial broker Alina Plasencia joined Carol Elis-Cutler’s team at CBRE, where she will focus on north Miami-Dade and south Broward. Plasencia joined the brokerage last year as a business development manager.

Marcus & Millichap promoted Evan Kristol to executive managing director of investments. He was previously a senior managing director of investments. Kristol, who has worked for Marcus & Millichap since 1991, specializes in multifamily property investments and is a senior director of the firm’s national multihousing group.

Moss promoted Edwin Perkins to vice president of solar. Perkins, who has more than 10 years of experience in construction management, was previously the director of solar initiatives. He’ll be responsible for the planning, development and preconstruction of utility scale solar projects in North America and the Caribbean.

SRS Real Estate Partners brought on Steve Miskew as managing principal of the investment properties group and as market leader of the South Florida office. The company also hired Shannon Rex as senior director of the debt and equity group.

Brian A. Hart joined Carlton Fields as a shareholder in the firm’s Miami office and part of the real estate and commercial finance practice group. He joins the law firm from his own practice, the Hart Law Firm.

Coldwell Banker hired Ofra Chanti as a sales associate out of its Pinecrest office; Alejandro Jimenez and Mariya Ilazarova in Boca Central; Michael Lisanti in Aventura; and Edith Colon, Julieta Feltrin, Yusimi Pino and Pablo Torres in the Brickell-Key Biscayne office.

EWM Realty International hired six new associates who will be working out of its Key Biscayne branch: Fanny Borgonovich, Claudia Leme, Judith Mercado, Marianela Montenegro, Iciar Oyarzun and Lucia Pena.

Maria Menendez joined Kerdyk Real Estate as a realtor associate specializing in commercial real estate. She’s also vice chair of the Coral Gables Planning and Zoning Board.
