The island also has an area designated for recreational development, so a new owner could turn it into an income-producing property, a primary residence or a second home.

Jonathan Jeswald, a Realtor with World Impact Real Estate in Destin who has the listing for South Walton Island, said in a news release that the island is on the market for the first time in 80 years.

South Walton Island, located on Choctawatchee Bay, is one of the last undeveloped private islands in the Panhandle region, according to Jeswald.
