October sales of houses and condos in the Naples area were almost unchanged from last year but the median price rose nine percent.

The number of October sales was 561, up one percent from the same month last year, the Naples Area Board of Realtors reported.

The board also reported that the median October sale price of houses and condos rose nine percent to $342,000 from $315,000 last year.

“October could have been better, but it did pretty well … after a hurricane,” Bill Coffey, broker-manager of Amerivest Realty in Naples, said in a prepared statement, referring to Hurricane Irma in September.

The number of pending sales of houses and condos in the Naples area dropped 11 percent to 623 in October from 702 in the same month last year.

The October inventory of houses and condos listed for sale declined year over year in the Naples area by 8 percent to 5,010 from 5,426 in October 2016. — Mike Seemuth
