Kenneth Silverman, who founded the Silverman Group, a New Jersey-based commercial real estate and private equity firm, is boosting his luxury residential portfolio.

Property records show Silverman and his wife Claudia just paid $8.9 million for their next door neighbor’s 7,100-square-foot home at 830 South County Road. The family-run company owns a portfolio of office and industrial buildings across the country.

The couple bought their current 18,290-square-foot waterfront home at 215 Via Del Mar in 2011 for $19.5 million. Through their company, the Silverman’s also recently dropped $30.7 million for two industrial buildings in Lake Worth.

Their new five-bedroom house traded for about $1,250 per square foot. Records show the sellers are Chuck Royce and his wife Deborah Goodrich, a former actress who starred in movies and television series in the late 80’s and early 90’s. Chuck Royce founded an eponymous mutual fund company in New York. Records show the couple paid $6.9 million for the home in 2005.

The two-story home features a pool and two-car garage. It sits on a nearly half-an acre lot – bringing the total land amassed by the Silvermans to a little more than an acre on the block. Just this month a vacant lot on South Ocean Boulevard, measuring about the same, traded for $17.59 million.
