Salmon company inks 106k sf lease in Medley
The Airport North Logistics Park in Medley just reeled in a big fish. The salmon distributor Marine Harvest US just inked a build-to-suit, 106,000-square-foot lease in a building under construction at the park.
The company will be moving out from its current Doral location to the property located just east of Northwest 87th Avenue and off Northwest 80th Street, according to Colliers International, which brokered the deal.
The building will be temperature-controlled and serve as a full-service salmon processing and distribution facility and the company’s U.S. corporate office. Colliers’ Erin Byers, Steven Wasserman and Ward Richmond represented the tenant.
L&B Realty Advisors, based in Dallas, owns the industrial park. Construction is set to be completed before the end of the year, according to a press release.
AutoNation renews lease at 200 Las Olas Circle
AutoNation just renewed its corporate headquarters at 200 Las Olas Circle, a 204,000-square foot, mixed-use office building in downtown Fort Lauderdale.
The auto retailer is adding 12 years to the lease, with an option to extend for an additional eight years, according to a press release. Stiles Corporation is the building’s owner. It developed the 16-story office building at 200 Southwest First Avenue in 2007.
AutoNation has more than 3,500 associates, 23 stores and 10 collision centers across South Florida. More than 650 associates work at its corporate headquarters in downtown Fort Lauderdale, according to a press release.
Duke Realty’s newest building at Turnpike Crossing reaches 100% occupancy
Duke Realty’s Turnpike Crossing 6747 is 100 percent leased to five companies. A representative of the firm declined to name the companies.
The Indianapolis-based industrial real estate investment trust built the 166,400-square-foot industrial building on speculation and delivered it in November. The warehouse at 6747 Belvedere Road, joins Turnpike Crossing 1315 and 1333, which are also fully leased.
The site is on the east side of Florida’s Turnpike at Jog Road off Belvedere Road, and spans about 67 acres. A fourth building is currently under construction.
Silicon Valley fund inks lease in downtown Miami
A $400 million Silicon Valley fund just inked a 7,200-square-foot lease in downtown Miami.
The Silicon Valley fund, called 500 Startups, is expanding beyond its California tech hub and into the eighth floor of 111 Northeast First Street. The company will be moving into a space owned by local coworking company mindwarehouse.
Miami’s Downtown Development Authority, Visa and the Knight Foundation helped bring the company to Miami, according to a press release. The company plans to move this spring.
Transport and Logistic Company renews lease at Prologis’ Beacon Lakes Industrial Park
DSV Air & Sea Inc., a global supplier of transport and logistics services, just renewed its 95,000-square-foot lease at Prologis’ Beacon Lakes Industrial Park in Miami.
Transwestern’s Thomas Kresse, Carlos Gaviria, Walter Byrd and Ben Eisenberg represented the tenant. Brian J. Smith with JLL represented the landlord, Prologis.
The 478-acre Beacon Lakes has signed on tenants such as Amazon, UPS, Ryder System, and NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. In February, Swiss travel retailer Dufry inked a 200,000-square-foot lease at the park, located in the Airport West/Doral submarket.
