A beachfront house on Longboat Key just west of Sarasota sold for $6.8 million nine days after the previous owner listed the property for sale.
Built in 2010, the house at 6899 Gulf of Mexico Drive sold for more than any other house on Longboat Key since 2016.
The four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bathroom house has 5,851 square feet of interior space.
The listing agent, Tina Rudek-Stark of Rosebay International Inc., told several real estate agents in advance that the house was hitting the market with a $7 million asking price.
One of the real estate agents Rudek-Stark contacted in advance was Janet Walter, who represented the buyers, Katherine B. and Paul W. Hylbert, a couple relocating from San Diego to the Sarasota area.
Walter immediately contacted the couple and used FaceTime software to give them a video preview of the property. Walter has known the couple since she was a student at Denison University in Granville, Ohio. [Sarasota Herald-Tribune] – Mike Seemuth
