Construction of a 46-unit townhouse development in North Lauderdale is expected to conclude by the end of the year.
Prices for the two-story townhouses will start at $254,900, according to the website of the developer, Urban Pointe Developers.
Urban Pointe acquired the four-acre development site near State Road 7 in 2014.
North Lauderdale city commissioners approved the development of villas on the four-acre site in 2003, but the project was never built due to a lack of funding.
In 2016, the city approved Urban Pointe’s revised the site plan for the development of three-bedroom townhouses, each with a one-car garage.
The 46-unit townhouse development, called The Crossings, is located at 5460 Southwest 13 Court.
Mike Sargis, a spokesman for the city of North Lauderdale, told the Sun-Sentinel that the city hasn’t had any new home construction since a townhouse development called San Remo in 2007. [Sun-Sentinel] – Mike Seemuth
