Construction crews broke ground for a 249-unit rental apartment complex on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine.

Summit Contracting Group, with offices in Jacksonville and Atlanta, is the general contractor for the development, called Antigua Apartments.

Catalyst Development Partners is the developer of the $22.6 million apartment complex, and Humphreys & Partners Architects designed it.

Construction is expected to conclude in the summer of 2019.

The site of the Antigua Apartments project is in a master-planned development called Antigua on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine.

The development will be a 291,448-square-foot complex of three- and four-story buildings with a gym, swimming pool, outdoor kitchen and grilling stations, clubhouse, dog-grooming spa and dog park, plus co-working spaces and bicycle storage. – Mike Seemuth
