Bridge Development Partners just picked up the site of a shuttered school in Fort Lauderdale, with plans to redevelop the 10.2-acre property into a 173,000-square-foot industrial park.

Records show the Chicago-based developer paid $5.65 million for the site at 300 Southwest 32nd Court. The School Board of Broward County was the seller. The trade breaks down to about $554,000 per acre.

The project, called Bridge Point FLL Logistics Center, will feature two industrial buildings, with one spanning about 92,000 square feet and the other spanning about 82,000 square feet. Each will feature 32-foot clear ceiling heights and rear-dock loading.

Bridge Development plans to complete the project by the second quarter of 2019, according to a press release. It’s located just north of I-595, across from Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

In the next year, the developer plans to deliver more than 1.75 million square feet of industrial space in South Florida. Its several spec industrial parks underway include Bridge Point Commerce Center in Miami Gardens and Bridge Point Powerline Road, a 468,000-square-foot industrial park in Pompano Beach.
