California-based rental housing developer opens Orlando-area office

California-based Legacy Partners, a developer of rental housing, expanded into the Southeast by opening an Orlando-area office, its sixth office nationwide, and hiring an industry veteran.

Legacy hired Jon C. Wood as senior managing director, Southeast, and made him regionally responsible for the firm’s site selections, market and financial analyses, due diligence, product design, entitlements, permits, financing, construction, asset management, risk management and strategic planning.

Wood previously was managing director of development in the Southeast for Hines.

Before he joined Hines, Wood managed multifamily housing developments in the Southeast and the mid-Atlantic region for The Morgan Group of Houston.

Wood has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Florida and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Rollins College.

He is an active member of the National Multi Housing Council, the Urban Land Institute, and the University of Florida Friends and Alumni of Real Estate. – Mike Seemuth
