David Cunningham Jr. absolutely, positively just sold his waterfront home in Fort Lauderdale.

Cunningham, president and CEO of Fedex Express, sold the 4,800-square-foot home at 1300 West Lake Drive for $6.2 million, or about $1,300 per square foot, according to property records. José M. Tamayo, president and CEO of the Panama City-based solar energy equipment supplier, LS Energia, is the buyer.

In the U.S., Tamayo’s company has its headquarters in Plantation. It also has offices in Venezuela and Dominican Republic.

Cunningham paid about $4.1 million for the five-bedroom house in 2010, records show. It was built in 1957 on a 26,150-square-foot lot with 300 feet of water frontage. The property, renovated in the 1970s, comes with a covered loggia, pool and two-car garage.

Peter Barkin of Coldwell Banker represented the Fedex executive. The house hit the market in October for $7.5 million, according to Realtor.com.

The Fort Lauderdale home is in the Harbor Beach neighborhood, one of the priciest in the county. Nearby, a mansion at 9 Isle Drive is on the market for $39 million.
