Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale will get a $7M renovation

The Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale will undergo a $7 million renovation.
Seattle-based architecture and interior design firm Degen & Degen is redesigning the resort’s 146 guest rooms and 16 suites. The project also will add eight suites at Pelican Grand.
The remodeled rooms will feature what Degen & Degen called “coastal artwork by local artisans” and “spa-inspired fixtures.”
Heidi Dennis, general manager of Pelican Grand, told the Sun-Sentinel the resort will remain open during the two-stage construction project.
Dennis told the newspaper that construction crews will remodel all of the rooms on the north side of the Fort Lauderdale resort at the same time and then all of the rooms on the south side.
The renovation project won’t affect the resort’s swimming pool or its “lazy river” water chute on the north side of Pelican Grand.
