Third-quarter sales of Naples-area homes rose from hurricane-depressed levels last year

The Naples Area Board of Realtors reports that house sales increased by 6% and condo sales by 20% in the July-September period, compared to last year's third quarter

Sales of Naples-area houses and condominium units increased in the third quarter from the same period last year, when Hurricane Irma depressed sales in September 2017.

The Naples Area Board of Realtors reported that the number of houses sold in the Naples area increased 6 percent in the third quarter to 979, while the number of condo closings increased 20 percent to 1,053.

The median sale price of Naples-area houses and condos was unchanged in the third quarter at $419,000 for houses, and it rose 1 percent to $251,000 for condos.

Pending sales of houses and condos under contract jumped in the third quarter to 2,014, a 20 percent increase from the same period last year.

The Naples-are inventory of active listings for houses rose to 2,495 in the third quarter, an 8 percent increase from last year’s third quarter, while the inventory of condos slipped 1 percent to 2,281. – Mike Seemuth
