Coral Gables-based Meyers Group started preleasing a 144-unit Pompano Beach apartment building with high-tech features more common at condominiums.
Meyers Group expects to open the rental property at 225 North Federal Highway, called Avery Pompano Beach, in March.
The apartments will have built-in USB chargers for cell phones and other electronic devices, plus key-less door locks, lighting fixtures and thermostats that tenants can control with a cell phone.
Alan Losada, chief operating officer of Meyers Group, told the Sun-Sentinel that key-less door locks are more common at condominiums than rental properties because they are more expensive than manual locks, and they distinguish Avery Pompano Beach from “cookie cutter” rentals.
Apartments at Avery Pompano Beach range in size from 787 square feet to 1,436 square feet, and monthly rents start at $1,750.
The mix of amenities will include a doorman, valet and concierge services, a clubhouse, swimming pool, gym and cabanas, plus a game room, theater and party room, fire pit and summer kitchen. Tenants also will have access to a conference room equipped with a projector and a wall-mounted screen.
Meyers Group also is building the first phase of Avery Dania Pointe, an eight-story, 264-unit apartment building at the mixed-use Dania Pointe development in Dania Beach. The first phase of Avery Dania Pointe is expected to open in 2020. [Sun-Sentinel] – Mike Seemuth
