Kevin Van Middlesworth, president and CEO of Platinum Group Security, just paid $6.05 million for a furnished, waterfront home in Hillsboro Beach, property records show.

The 4,709-square-foot house at 951 Hillsboro Mile sold for about $1,285 per square foot.

William M. Bell III, a trustee of a land trust agreement dated Dec. 28, 1989, is the seller. Records show the property last traded hands for $1.95 million in 1989.

The three-story, five-bedroom home sits on a half-acre lot overlooking the ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. Features include an elevator, balcony, pool and private boat dock that can fit a yacht up to 40 feet long.

Hillsboro Beach is known for its stretch of exclusive, pricey homes on Hillsboro Mile. Last year, PatrĂ³n Spirits Company CEO Edward Brown paid $20 million for a spec home at 1115 Hillsboro Mile. Over the summer, a nearly 14,000-square-foot mansion at 995 Hillsboro Mile sold for $15 million.

Van Middlesworth founded Platinum Group Security in 1996. The company, based in Deerfield Beach, provides security assessments, tech security installations, property concierge services and security personnel services, according to its website.
