Marc Roberts and the Murano at Portofino

The wife of Miami sports agent and real estate developer Marc Roberts bought a penthouse in the Murano at Portofino for $5.5 million.

Marci Roberts bought unit 3802, a 2,618-square-foot condo at 1000 South Pointe Drive in Miami Beach, for $2,100 per square foot. The seller is the trust of Bart Seidler, property records show. The unit has three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.

Marc Roberts was a successful boxing promoter, who was also formerly a co-developer of the Miami Worldcenter mega-project in downtown Miami with Art Falcone.

In 2010, after the financial crisis, Roberts filed for personal bankruptcy, forcing him to drop his affiliation with Miami Worldcenter.

The $4 billion-mixed use project is now being developed by a group consisting of Nitin Motwani, Dan Kodsi and Art Falcone.

As a sports agent, Roberts managed boxing heavyweight world champions Ray Mercer and Shannon Briggs. He also managed NFL players Antonio Freeman, Tyrone Wheatley and NBA player Derek Anderson. He claims that he was one of five sports agents consulted in making the film Jerry Maguire, according to his LinkedIn.

The Murano at Portofino, a 189-unit luxury waterfront condo tower in South Beach’s South-of-Fifth neighborhood, was developed by the Related Group in 2002.

In February 2018, pet e-commerce millionaire Alex Zhardanovsky paid $5 million for unit 1401 at Murano at Portofino. In 2017, vitamin mogul Andrew Lessman paid $6 million for unit 2201.
