Movers & Shakers: Mast Capital names new VP of acquisitions & more

Dwntwn Realty Advisors is launching a new capital markets division led by Andrew Kurnit

UPDATED, June 11, 4:10 p.m.: Mast Capital brought on Joseph Ianoale, a new vice president of acquisitions and asset management, as the firm takes on more multifamily projects.

Ianoale was previously vice president of acquisitions at LEM Capital, and before that a principal at Seal Point Capital. At Mast Capital, he’ll focus on leading the company’s investment management, including new joint venture partnerships. Mast Capital’s projects include Miami River Walk, a 688-unit apartment complex it is building with joint venture partner AEW Capital Management at 1001 Northwest Seventh Street in Miami.

Dwntwn Realty Advisors is launching a new capital advisory division led by Andrew Kurnit, a capital markets broker. The division will include debt placement, joint venture equity investment and loan asset management. Brokers Devlin Marinoff and Tony Arellano launched Dwntwn Realty Advisors in 2018 to focus on commercial deals in Miami’s urban core. William Gladstone also joined Dwntwn recently from his Gladstone Investment Company.

The Schwartz Team left One Sotheby’s International Realty to join Compass in Miami Beach. The mother-daughter team of Ida and Minette Schwartz includes agent Tyler Jove. They focus on properties from Bal Harbour to Coral Gables. They’re bringing 25 listings totaling more than $30 million with them to Compass. The team has sold more than $200 million of properties in South Florida over the past 18 years, according to a release.

Douglas Elliman’s Oceanfront International Group is expanding in South Florida and the Caribbean. The team, led by broker Steve Davis, includes Victoria Brewer, Jessica Robertson, Brent Robertson and Adam Greenfader. The group has nearly $400 million of listings throughout Florida, Costa Rica, Dominica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Saint Barthélemy, St. Maarten and Turks & Caicos.

Suffolk tapped Jeffrey Attanasio as vice president of operations, based in its West Palm Beach office. Attanasio will be responsible for overseeing financial and operational aspects of Suffolk’s projects in the region, including the ongoing expansion at Sebastian River Medical Center.

Apex Capital Realty expanded with the addition of senior investment adviser Stefano Santoro and two commercial advisers: Ronald Mann and Erika Goldman. Santoro was previously with Dwntwn Realty Advisors, while Mann was with Cervera Real Estate.

Simon Isaacs left Boca Raton-based Property Matters, a brokerage, to launch Simon Isaacs Real Estate. The new firm will focus on Palm Beach, West Palm Beach and Delray Beach.
