AIDS Healthcare Foundation sells three vacant lots in Miami Gardens

The nonprofit sold the site for $9.5M after buying it a year ago

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation sold three vacant lots in Miami Gardens to ahs Residential for $9.5 million after buying the site a year ago.

The nonprofit sold the 13.1-acre site near 2255 Northwest 167th Street for $725,190 per acre, records show.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation is a Los Angeles-based global nonprofit provider of HIV prevention services, testing, and healthcare for HIV patients. The nonprofit bought the properties in April 2018 for $7.25 million.

Ahs Residential did not return a call seeking comment on its plans for the site.

AIDS Healthcare Foundation is planning to build a controversial residential tower in downtown Fort Lauderdale. After receiving pushback from nearby residents, the nonprofit reduced its proposal from 680 apartments to 500, according to the Sun Sentinel. Property records also show AIDS Healthcare paid $6.8 million for a retail building at 2400 Biscayne Boulevard in 2017.

Miami-based ahs Residential develops, builds and manages apartments and has over 1,000 units under management, according to its website. It is led by Ernesto Lopes, a former construction director at Odebrecht S.A.

In October, ahs Residential sold a recently completed apartment complex in Dania Beach for $38 million to a California-based trust.
