The city of Parkland dialed into the radio station network Beasley Media Group to purchase a site where it plans to build a new 36-acre park.

Parkland purchased 24.4-acres off of Hillsboro Boulevard for $7.1 million from Beasley Media Group. The sale equates to $290,938 per acre, records show.

Parkland plans to combine the 24-acre property with two adjacent properties it owns to build the park, according to a city commission agenda. The land at 8400 Nob Hill Road is just north of Parkland Golf and Country Club.

Last year, developer Craig Perry of Centerline Capital Advisors paid $50.5 million for a development site in Parkland that is zoned for 445 single-family homes.
