Former politician Michael Huffington bought an oceanfront condo at a newly built high-rise in Miami Beach.
Records show Huffington, through the MH Trust, spent $7.5 million on unit 1601 at Eighty Seven Park, an 18-story, luxury condominium built by architect Renzo Piano.
The four-bedroom condo at 8701 Collins Avenue has just under 3,400 square feet of indoor space, as well as more than 2,200 square feet of outdoor terraces, according to Eighty Seven Park’s website.
Terra built the tower in 2019. Douglas Elliman is handling sales and marketing.
Former California congressman Huffington was previously married to businesswoman Ariana Huffington, co-founder of The Huffington Post. The two divorced in 1997.
Other buyers at Eighty Seven Park include tennis star Novak Djokovic; Jonathan Newhouse, chairman of Conde Nast; and Pierre Omerleau, president and CEO of Pomerleau, one of Canada’s largest construction companies.
Miami Beach has seen its share of big sales this summer. Two waterfront homes recently sold for $20.1 million and $23.5 million.
